Kundapur: Road issues around highway near Shastri Circle to be solved by end of Sep

Kundapur, Sep 18: Assistant Commissioner (AC) Raju of Kundapur sub division said that all issues near underpass and re-asphaltization of highway near Shastri Circle in the town will be completed by the end of September as per the assurance given by engineer and officials of Navayug company.

Raju gave this clarification after holding a meeting with engineers and staff of Navyug company, people representatives and officials at the Mini Vidhana Soudha on Saturday, September 18.

The AC further said, “There are some issues on the highway and also in the area that falls under the limits of town municipality. This meeting was called in that connection. Though instructions were given to clear the debris stores beneath the flyover six months ago, the same was not done by Navayug. It is being cleared now. We have given four days’ time. This means that by Tuesday, September 21, the debris and scrap items below the flyover will be cleared.

” Highway near Shastri Circle is filled with potholes and will be re-asphaltized by the end of September. In addition, instructions are given to Navyug to correct the rain water seepage from underpass and flyover.”

Vice president of state food corporation Kiran Kodgi, tahsildar Kiran Gowraiah, DySP Srikanth, circle inspector Gopikrishna, sub inspector Sadashiv Gavaroji, Sudarshan, chief officer of town municipality Gopalkrishna Shetty, revenue officer Dinesh, BJP Mandala president Shankar Ankadakatte, leaders Kadur Suresh Shetty, Sunil Shetty, Suresh Shetty, Sathish Poojary, Santhosh Shetty, Kenchanur Somashekhar Shetty of Highway protest committee, Avarse Sudhakara Shetty of Bunts’ association and others took part.
