Bengaluru, Sep 18: The state high court will hear the matter as to whether permission has to be granted to submit the final report of the special investigation team relating to Ramesh Jarkiholi's sleaze CD case or not, on February 27.

The high court had in the past restrained submission of the report to the subordinate court without its permission. The bench of the high court said that the demand to vacate this order will be considered during the next hearing on February 27. The petition had been placed before the bench chaired by the acting Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma on Friday.

State advocate general Prabhuling Navadgi, presenting arguments first, asked the high court to permit the special investigation team to file the final report in the subordinate court. He said that the high court is free to put the condition that it will be subject to the final order of the high court.

Advocate for the affected lady, Indira Jaisingh, argued against giving this permission at any cost. She said that the accused, who was a minister, is very influential. She pointed out that the very validity of the formation of the investigation team has been questioned and questioned whether the investigation conducted by other officials in the absence of its chief is valid. She also said that the contents of the report submitted in sealed cover had been leaked in an English daily and asked the bench to order an investigation.

Navadgi pointed out that final report should be submitted within two months and therefore sought permission of the high court to file the final report. He insisted that they are not giving clean chit to the accused. But Jaisingh vehemently opposed the same and asked the high court not to vacate its interim stay in this regard.
