Sullia, Sep 18: The court at Sullia has declined to entertain the bail application filed by the persons accused in the case of stealing gold ornaments from the pilgrims at Subrahmanya.

The theft-accused, Mamata from Bengaluru, was taken into custody from the city and gold ornaments worth Rs 17 lac were confiscated from her possession. Another accused, Ratnamma from the city was also arrested. Advocates from Bengaluru had appealed to release both the accused on bail. Assistant public prosecutor Janardan B, argued against sanction of bail as there is suspicion of them being part of a big racket of thieves.
