20 days of service activity kicked off to mark Modi’s birthday

Bengaluru, Sep 17: As part of the celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday as many as 1000 tabs and 350 laptops were handed over to government/BBMP schools in the Malleswaram constituency to strengthen digital education along the lines of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) on Friday.

In the constituency represented by Dr C N Ashwatha Narayana, Higher Education and IT/BT and S&T Minister, the day also witnessed activity-based books being distributed, launching of smart boards, and inauguration of Prerana App which facilitates the teaching-learning process.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Narayana, who presided over the function said: “We are fortunate to have a leader like Narendra Modi who is leading the country by giving suitable prominence to all the sectors including education and technology.”

Prime Minister has brought in the National Education Policy with the aim of making India ‘Vishwaguru’ in the coming years, he said.

Mahantesh Kavatagimutt, MLC and Chief Whip of Legislative Council appreciated the efforts that the Higher Education Minister has put towards the implementation of the NEP.

Tabs were given to be used by high school students and laptops are meant to be used by primary school students (in the proportion of 1 laptop for every 5 students).

Dr Narayan said these will be further added depending on the increase in the number of students.

The Minister also expressed thanks to the organizations and institutions who have contributed the equipment for the cause of education.

Prasanna, CEO, Shikshana Foundation, Dr. Prashanth Prakash, Chairperson, State Startup Vision Group & President, Shikshana Foundation, Narayan, DDPI, Umadevi, BEO, Kaveri Kedarnath, Chairperson, BJP Malleswaram Mahila Mandal, Jayaprakash, Ex-Corporator, and others were present.
