Bengaluru: Three killed, four injured as ambulance hits moving lorry

Bengaluru, Sep 17: In an accident which happened near Neralur Gate at Attibele near here on Thursday September 16, three persons were killed and four others injured as an ambulance rammed into a moving lorry. A doctor and the patient were among those killed in the accident.

The deceased were Anwar Khan from Tamil Nadu, Dr Jadhav Bhushan, a doctor of Madhya Pradesh origin, and the driver of the ambulance, Tukaram Namdev. All the four injured were hospitalised. A senior police officer said that the ambulance was going to Tamil Nadu from Mumbai.

The ambulance driver, it is said, tried to overtake the lorry near the Naralur Gate but lost control over the vehicle and dashed against the lorry. The front portion of the ambulance was badly mangled in the accident. Passers-by rushed to help those in distress and admitted the injured into a hospital.

The Attibele police registered the case on the basis of preliminary inquiry. They have also collected video clips of CCTVs as evidence.
