Mangaluru: ICYM Episcopal City Deanery organizes training programme for youth

Mangaluru, Sep 15: ICYM Episcopal City Deanery organized a half-day training programme for the presidents, secretaries, treasurers, and Amcho Yuvak/media representatives (PSTA) of all the units of the deanery on September 10, 2021 from 9.15 AM onwards at Bejai Church Hall.

The day began with prayer and welcome by Fr Ronson Pinto, ICYM ECD director. Minol Braggs, former PRO of ICYM central council and ECD representative (2019-2021) conducted ice-breaking activities to warm up the youth and help build rapport among the attendees.

The first training session on the topic ‘Who is a leader, was conducted by Leon Saldanha, immediate past president of ICYM central council. He spoke about how leaders should be enthusiastic and motivate others and how as a leader, one always needs to be open to criticism.

The second session on the topic, ‘Strength of our youth, skills, and philosophy’, was conducted by Anil D'Sa, YCS animator of city deanery. He made the session lively by conducting some team-building activities.

On behalf of ICYM episcopal city deanery, Leon Saldanha, former president of ICYM central council (2019-2021), was felicitated for his eight years of service in ICYM and for being an inspiration to all the youth.

Sapna Gonsalves, lady vice president ICYM central council, and ECD representative were present for the program. Dr J B Saldanha - parish priest of Bejai, addressed everyone present and blessed the Novem Jevan.

Sonali Rodrigues, ICYM ECD treasurer compered the leaders training program. More than 45 youth were present for the training programme.
