Shivamogga: Culling of street dogs - Case against Kambadala Hosur gram panchayat

Shivamogga, Sep 11: Relating to the mass killing of street dogs, a case was registered in Bhadravathi rural police station against Kambadala Hosur gram panchayat in the district.

Over 12 dog carcasses were found in Hunsekatte village near Kambadalu village. Based on media reports, animal rights activists had filed a complaint on Tuesday. Based on the complaint, the said case was filed.

The activists had gone in search of the dogs after the locals said that they are neither been seeing these street dogs nor were able to hear their usual barking sounds.

Through the complainant, the activists have alleged that the dogs were killed under the instructions of the gram panchayat.

Shivamogga district superintendent of police, Laxman Prasad, said that a team of veterinarians have been conducting tests and that based on the outcome, further steps will be taken.
