Govt should avoid confrontation with farmers: Hooda

New Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS): Amid farmers protest in Karnal, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Wednesday that the government should avoid confrontation with the farmers and find amicable solution.

He said confrontation is not good as farmers have every right to protest peacefully for their demands.

Hooda said, "the farmers are demanding MSP guarantee and go and see what is the position in Mandis as even input cost of the farming is not covered."

The government should initiate talks with the farmers immediately and come out with some solution, he said

Meanwhile, a meeting of farm leaders with local administration has begun in Karnal on Wednesday with farmers demanding action against SDM Ayush Sinha and an independent inquiry in the matter.

Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait, activist Yogendra Yadav are among the 13 representatives participating in the meeting with District administration officials.

Before going for the meeting, Rakesh Tikait said, the Khattar government is conspiring to limit the farm agitation to Karnal, which will not be successful. He said the farm protests at borders of Delhi will continue. He added that he will not waste the energy in the protest at Karnal and would like to solve this issue as soon as possible.

If a farmer finds the input costs are high such farmer should give up farming and look for some other way to earning a living. Living through subsidies is artificial sustenance.

The BJP Govt has made a mockery of Parlimentary Democracy by passing these Farm Bills without any discussion in the house or taken any Parlimentary bodies into confidence. It is clear to the people of our country that these three farm bills was a dubious case of match fixing by Modi and Amit Shah for their crony capitalists friends like Ambani and Adani. The elaborate advance preparations , go downs, super markets, land acquisitions and other arrangements by industrialists Abmani and Adani are already in the public domain. These crony capitalists will then dominate the agriculture sector and render the farmers vulnerable and vanquished. . They finally passed it in the Rajya Sabha in a most deceitful manner through a voice vote just to please their Crony Capitalist friends at the expense of the Farmers. A Suit Boot Ki Sarkar that is totally insensitive, Callous, Indifferent, Arrogant and Autocratic that cares two hoots for the lower sections of our society including farmers. "Since Independence, it is for the first time that an arrogant government has come to power. It is not even looking49131 at the pain and sufferings of farmers, forget about the common man,"If Agriculture is a State subject the why has the center passed Bills on Farm Laws on Agriculture
