Sullia: Married woman who eloped with another man refuses to return

Sullia, Sep 8: A married woman who had fled with a youth who was known to her, presented herself in Sullia police station. She refused to go back to her husband.

Samith (Sandhya), residing near Koyingody, Jayanagar here, reportedly had deserted her husband and fled with a man named Pradeep. She also had carried her two children with her. Her husband, Manoj, had filed complaint in Sullia police station.

The woman who came to the police station said that she had decided to live with Pradeep and that she had chosen not to return to her husband. Her husband was present in the police station when she gave the statement.

It is said that the lady also expressed her intention to file for divorce. It is said that she had raised loans from self-help groups. Members of this group who waited outside the police station, took up with the lady the issue of clearing the loan. This gave rise to verbal friction for some time.
