Mangaluru, Sep 8: Due to the slump in atmospheric pressure over the Bay of Bengal, coastal Karnataka districts received good rainfall the entire day on Tuesday September 7.

While almost all places in Dakshina Kannada district received good rain all through the day, Udupi, Kaup, Karkala, Brahmavar, Hebri, Kundapur and Byndoor taluks received intermittent rainfall.

As there has been rainfall during the last two days in the ghat region, inflow of water in Darpana Theertha rivulet in Subrahmanya went up. 'As a result, River Kumaradhara too is in full flow and the bathing bay was inundated. All the rivers and rivulets including streams have been experiencing strong inflow. In some places, agricultural farms too went under water. A tree which fell across the road near Cheru in Bilinele village on Subrahmanya road blocked vehicular movement for some time before the PWD officials removed the tree.

The meteorological department has issued an orange alert in the coast till Wednesday morning. Yellow alert has been issued till September 9. The coast is expected to get good rainfall for two days. Maximum temperature of 24.8 degree Celsius was recorded in Panambur on Tuesday while the minimum was 23 degree Celsius.
