Mangaluru: Vaccination drive at Golden Jubilee Hall, Guardian Angel church Angelore

Mangaluru, Sep 7: District health and family welfare society of Dakshina Kannada and primary health center, Yekkur with support and cooperation from D Vedavyaas Kamath, MLA of Mangaluru south division and Sandeep Garody, health committee chairman Mangaluru city corporation, Kesahav Maroli corporator 37 Maroli ward organized Covid-19 vaccination with Covishelid at the Golden Jubilee Hall of Guardian Angel Church on September 6, 2021 for the beneficiaries of parishioners and local members around Angelore, Nagori, Maroli area. The Catholic Sabha of Guardian Angel church helped in the vaccination drive at the venue.

The program began with the prayer by Fr William Menezes, parish priest of Guardian angel Church. Asha D’Silva district Mahila Morcha vice president welcomed the dignitaries Vedavyas Kamath, Sandeep Garodi, Fr William Menezes, parish priest, Fr Lawrence Cutinha assistant parish priest, Noel Pinto vice president of parish pastoral council, Catholic Sabha members and all the beneficiaries of the program.

The inauguration of the program was done by lighting the lamp by all dignitaries and representatives. The corporator of Kankanady and Valencia ward Sandeep Garodi in his address emphasized the importance of vaccination in controlling the Covid-19 disease. Vedavyas Kamath MLA also briefed and called the public to get vaccinated and prevent the spread of disease. He thanked the district health and family welfare society of Dakshina kannada unit and the primary health centre staff for taking up the mass vaccination drive. He also appreciated the catholic Sabha of Guardian angel church Angelore for coordinating the activity and arranging the large number of parishioners and local people for vaccination.

Fr William Menezes parish priest congratulated for the initiative taken by the Catholic Sabha along with the district health and family welfare society, primary health centre and support from MLA and corporator of the Kankanady ward for organizing the event. The program came to an end with vote of thanks by Asha D’ Silva. Around 500 people took the benefit of the mass vaccination drive.
