Udupi: 'Devara Makkalu Naavu' WhatsApp group celebrates sixth anniversary

Udupi, Sep 7: The sixth anniversary of 'Devara Makkalu Naavu' whatsapp group was celebrated in the premises of St Antony's church, Kolalagiri, Ammunje, on August 31.

On this occasion, people-friendly initiatives undertaken by the group ie., construction of a house at Heroor, renovation of two houses in Uppoor, painting of school building of government higher primary school Heroor, and renovation of a house in Honnavar, totally costing about Rs 8.5 lac, undertaken as per the initiatives of group admin Maxim Mascarenhas, were inaugurated by social worker and former taluk panchayat member Veronica Cornelio.

Ammunje church priest Fr David Crasta, presided over the programme. Kolalagiri church assistant priest Fr Jesudas, dramatist Allwyn Andrade, Heroor gram panchayat president Meera Sadanand, Uppoor gram panchayat president Krishnaraj Kotian, panchayat member Ashwin Roach, Heroor school head mistress Manjula, donors Juliana Mascarenhas and Pramod Shetty, senior well-wisher Boniface D'Souza, were present. Group admins Br Ronald Noronha and Mark D'Souza extended best wishes on the occasion.

Admin Valerian Crasta welcomed and compered the programme. Admin Meena D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
