Kundapur, Sep 6: “I was an ordinary party activist who used to paste posters and tie party banners. But the BJP has helped me to be the MLA thrice and now made me the minister. It is possible only in BJP. The chief minister has entrusted me with two big portfolios. I have the intention to do well for the state and the district through them by providing new pro people administration,” said Karnataka minister of energy, Kannada and culture Sunil Kumar.
He was speaking to party activists after visiting Byndoor BJP mandala office on Monday September 6.
“The feelings of the people in Byndoor and Karakala are the same. Work is being done considering the pulse of the people. The development of Karkala constituency has been in progress since the last three terms. Most of the progress performed in Byndoor shows the pulse of the MLA. The three ministers in the district will go forward for the permanent progress of the district within the time frame,” he said.
“The no objection letter from local bodies was necessary to obtain electricity in the rural houses. No such letter will be necessary forthwith. A new circular in this connection will be sent in a week. It will help about 2.5 lac families to obtain electricity. Low voltage problem will also be rectified. The department is ready for the Kollur substation but the forest department poses problems. A meeting in this connection will be called at Bengaluru. Deemed forest problem has come from the Congress government. The problem being faced by lacs of houses will be solved in a month and there are efforts to issue title deeds,” he said.
Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty said that the development unseen in Byndoor since the last 70 years can be seen during the current term. “Power minister Sunil Kumar is the minister who lights the houses of all. His being the minister has helped in the progress of Byndoor all the more,” he said.
BJP district president Kuyilady Suresh Nayak and Byndoor town panchayat Mahashakthi centre president Raghavendra Poojary Yadthare were present.
