Brahmavar: Hydrochloric acid tanker trips, falls by its side

Brahmavar, Sep 6: A tanker loaded with hydrochloric acid lost its balance and fell by its side near Balebettu, Manuru, Kota in the taluk. The accident happened on Sunday September 5.

The tanker was moving towards Kochi from Karwar with a consignment of 23 tonnes of the acid. After the driver lost control over the vehicle, possibly due to dozing, the vehicle dashed against the road divider, moved several metres ahead and then fell, it is said. It is learnt that the driver and cleaner of the vehicles escaped with minor injuries.

Fire brigade personnel arrived at the spot to undertake precautionary measures. It is said that hydrochloric acid does not create major problems. A complaint has been registered at Kota police station.
