Nirani promises good investment opportunities for Thailand

Bengaluru, Sep 4: In an effort to further strengthen the Karnataka-Thai relationship, Nitirgooge Phoneprasert, Consul General of Thailand in Chennai held talks with Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani and discussed business opportunities in the State on Saturday.

Briefing the Thai delegation about the investment opportunities, Minister Nirani said Karnataka is the ideal destination for investments.

“Our government has taken several measures to enhance the investor-friendly atmosphere. Karnataka is the third highest FDI recipient in India in 2020-21 at $7.6 billion with 14% national share. We are very keen to further strengthen this partnership by leveraging the existing synergies between Karnataka and Thailand. We share many similarities across major industries like Auto and Auto Components, Electronics, Food Processing and Textiles to name a few,” Nirani told the Thai delegation.

Inviting the Thai firms to make investments in Karnataka, Nirani promised to extend all the facilities and assistance mainly focusing innovation and start-up sector.

“Karnataka holds a very strong relationship with Thailand, and we are keen to strengthen our relationship further. Thai businesses are among the forerunners of foreign investors in Karnataka. We are already home to multiple Thai companies like C P Group, Allied Metals, Pruksa Real Estate etc. operating in Karnataka across industry sectors,” Nirani stated.

Nirani explained about the New Industrial Policy 2020-25 and various subsidies, incentives and other benefits for investors.

“Karnataka has attracted more than Rs 1 lakh crore investments since COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. Bengaluru is the world's 4th largest technology & innovation cluster. We aim to become an integral part of the global value chain. We would like to partner with Thailand and lead the path of sustainable growth and development together,” Nirani told the Thai delegation.
