Mangaluru: Kadike Trust organizes concluding ceremony of weavers training programme

Mangaluru, Sep 4: The concluding ceremony of 150 days weavers training program at Talipady Weavers Society organized by Kadike Trust was held recently. The program was supported by NABARD Karnataka.
Sangeetha Kartha DDM NABARD lauded the success of the training organised by Kadike Trust and wished all the trainees well.

Mamatha Rai, president Kadike Trust narrated the journey of revival. She said weavers were not only trained in weaving but also dyeing, winding, designing, warping, block printing, embroidery and health and personality development. The number of weavers escalating from 46 to more than 70 in twin districts is the clear sign of revival and thanked NABARD for the whole hearted support.



Gerald Rego, chief manager Union Bank Kinnigoli assured the youngsters that Union bank is ready to help the weavers in their hour of need. Sanjeeva Shettigar senior 80 count weaver and Nekara Ratna awardee gave valuable suggestions to the trainees.

President of Talipady weavers Society, Ananda Shettigar thanked Kadike Trust for the success of the programme. The trainees were given certificates by the guests and shared their experience.

Madhava Shettigar M D gave the vote of thanks. Chikkappa Shetty, secretary Kadike Trust compered the program.
