Mangaluru: World Coconut Day celebrated at St Agnes CBSE School

Mangaluru, Sep 2: Every year September 2 is internationally celebrated as World Coconut Day. This day is specially celebrated in countries under the Asian and Pacific regions that have most of the world’s coconut growing regions and production centres.

The main objective of celebrating this important day is to create worldwide awareness about coconut usage and its myriad benefits.

The first-ever world coconut day was celebrated in 2009; from then on, it’s an annual ritual to celebrate the day with great enthusiasm by the APCC (Asian and Pacific Coconut Community). The serving headquarters of this association is currently in Jakarta in Indonesia.

In India it is called The Holy Kalpavriksha. Each and every part of the tree is being used for various benefits. It is a source of income to many people around the world.

St Agnes CBSE school has brought excellence in education, it is shown in creativity and marking each day as a special event. Constantly encouraging staff and students to bring out their talents and exhibiting them. To commemorate this important day the school organised a virtual programme as Coconut Day. Several unique competitions were organised for the students. The list of the events mentioned below:

The management, the administrator, principal and the staff congratulated all the winners for their best efforts and extended a big thank you to all the parents for their constant support and encouragement to the students for bringing out the best. The effect of the success of this day’s celebration was the effort of teachers Nayana Fernandes and Shalet.

Teachers along with the principal also proved the importance of this day by preparation of various coconut delicacies. A wonderful blend of colourful flavour was displayed. Below is a glimpse.
