Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School celebrates National Sports Day

Mangaluru, Aug 29: The National Sports Day is on August 29 which spreads awareness about physical activity, sports, and overall health. The day is celebrated to pay tribute to the phenomenal player Dhyan Chand who won many gold medals for India. Every year the day is celebrated with different themes in several academic institutions and sports academies by organizing different types of fitness drives in varied sports like hockey, cricket, badminton, football, etc. Sports develop a sense of belonging, team spirit, and friendliness in people, and moreover helps in developing mental and physical toughness. Sports are the best means of avoiding lethargy and shaping oneself to be strong and active.

St Agnes school has given equal prominence in academics as well as sports. Due to the ongoing pandemic situation a new way of recognising the National sports day was organised by the PE trainers for students by organising many creative competitions to symbolise the importance of this day. A day was also recognised for the school educators as a moment of relaxation to the team. Indoor and outdoor games such as Basketball, Lagori, Hockey, Ludo, Carom, Badminton games were enjoyed by the team. Here is a glimpse.

The management, the administrator, principal and the staff congratulated all the winners for their best efforts and thanked all the parents for their constant support and encouragement to the students.
