Hassan, Aug 27: The police personnel of Arkalgud station have arrested a person who killed his wife and tried to make it look like an accident.
Mahesh from Arkalgud had married Preethi (32) from Upparakoplu three years back. The couple used to quarrel with one another often and family elders had intervened a number of times to strike truce. Two days ago, Majesh had taken his wife away in his motorbike and killed her. He then tried to project that when going in motorbike an accident had happened near Hulikal village. He also called for an ambulance there to carry the body. Claiming that he was injured in the accident, he got admitted into hospital.
The police who conducted the spot inspection got suspicious as there were no signs of any accident. They then questioned Mahesh intensely after which Mahesh confessed to have killed his wife. He has been remanded to judicial custody now.
