Panaji: Rapid PCR test started at international airport for travellers to UAE

Panaji, Aug 26: A rapid PCR test facility was set up on Tuesday, August 24 at the multi-level car parking area of Goa International airport in response to the directive of Dubai Civil aviation authority. The cost of the test is Rs 4,000 and this has come as a big relief for Goans living and working in the UAE.

As per the directives given by Dubai civil aviation authority the test can be conducted six hours prior to the departure of the passenger. This rule is applicable to passengers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Nepal and Nigeria.

Giving details of the test, Gagan Malik, director of the airport said that the facility was started in order to meet the present requirements of departure to UAE from Goa. The issue of delay was brought to the notice of the government by Congress MLA Alexio Reginaldo last week in the assembly.
