Kaup: High court orders eviction of illegal building near highway

Kaup, Aug 26: The Karnataka high court has passed an order directing to evict a building that was illegally constructed by certain individuals within the limits of the controlling line of national highway 66. The building is located within Nadsal village of Kaup taluk.

The high court also directed the chief secretary of the government to take steps to find out facts behind issuance of permission letters for the construction of the said building and to initiate steps against the officials found guilty.

Dayanand B Shetty from Nadsal village had approached the high court through a public interest litigation seeking to remove the disputed building. A division bench of the high court presided over by senior judge, Justice Satishchandra Sharma, which heard the public interest litigation, passed the said order.
