Udupi, Aug 25: Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) and Unnathi Career Academy Pvt Ltd, training partner of KSDC jointly organized a district level Job fair 'Udyoga Mela' at Unnathi Career Academy Campus on August 25, 2021.
The Udyoga Mela witnessed more than 1,500 candidates from the district. 20 companies had arrived at the job fair for taking suitable candidates.
"Udyoga Mela provides opportunities for the people between 18-35 years of age to appear for interviews. Candidates with PUC, ITI, Diploma, Engineering, MBA degree holders have attended the udyoga mela today. Due to the Covid crisis many youths have undergone job loss and are facing unemployment. Karnataka State Government has organized 'Kaushalya Month' a month long program for providing jobs to the youth in July and August months. Udyoga Mela is being organized in every district head quarters. Students who have completed their degree and post graduation studies are eligible for attending the interviews. We are willing to continue to organize such Udyoga Mela's in upcoming days also" said Prem Prasad Shetty, Founder Unnathi Career Academy Pvt Ltd.
The Udyoga Mela 2021 was open to both skilled and unskilled youth, with varying levels of educational qualifications – ITI certificate holders, diploma holders, PUC, Commerce, Science, Arts, Engineering graduates and post graduates.
Renowned companies like Swiggy, BSL India, Abharan Motors, ICICI Bank, Star Health Insurance, and other IT companies also participated in the drive.
Jagath, district coordinator district Kaushalya Mission Udupi district speaking at the moment said, "Due to the Covid scare we have digitized the process of this Udyoga Mela. Timings were scheduled for the candidates to appear for the interview. 20 companies have appeared from Udupi, Mangaluru and Bengaluru district" he said.
Prem Prasad Shetty, founder Unnathi Career Academy Pournami Prem Shetty, director Uday Shankar, district Skill development officer Jagath, coordinator and representatives of various companies were present on the occasion.
