Puttur: Man attacked by gang in petrol bunk, alleges murder attempt

Puttur, Aug 25: Radakrishna (44), a resident of Chikkamudnoor village in the taluk, has filed a complaint in the town police station here, alleging that six persons, Kishore Golthamajalu, Rakesh Panchody, Rehmant, Ibrahim Kabaka, Deviprasad and Ashraf Peraje had attacked him with fibre parking cones, iron stand, helmet and stones, when he was at the Jagannath Rai petrol bunk, inflicting injuries on his body. The attack had happened at Jagannath Rai petrol bunk near Darbe junction on the evening of Tuesday August 24.

Radhakrishna, who suffered injuries, got admitted as an inpatient in the government hospital here. "Relating to the murder of Kartik about two years back, an accused, Preethesh, continues to be in jail. Relatives of the main witness Kishore, namely Keshava Suvarna and Pramod had spoken to Kishore, Radhakrishna along with his friend, Prajwal, had made an effort to convince Kishore to adduce evidence in favour of Preethesh at Beeramale Gudde three days back. During the discussions, a quarrel had broken out between them. Because of a sense of anger emanating from this incident, accused Kishore along with friends attacked me," Radhakrishna stated.
