Mangaluru: The Yenepoya School holds virtual Rakhi making activity

Mangaluru, Aug 24: The festival of Raksha Bandhan is the festival of love and brotherhood. Rakhi is the thread that binds two souls in a bond of joy forever. On this auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan, The Yenepoya School organized a Rakhi making activity through a virtual platform.

The programme began with the introduction by the MC, Zeena D’Almieda. Principal Grace Noronha addressed the gathering with her warm and enthusiastic words. She updated everyone about ‘The Incredible India series’ which is a bouquet of competitions aiming at the scholastic and co-scholastic development of the students. She enunciated that the festival of Raksha Bandhan promotes harmony and peace in multi-cultural communities.

The ever-zealous campus director Mishria Javeed, stated, “The last 1.5 years may have been chaotic but we, at The Yenepoya School, have not let the audacity of this tiny virus to stop our learning through online classes and continued technological innovations.” She cited that The Yenepoya School, in its vicennial year, wanted to reiterate the commitment of providing a secular outlook to education so that it can extend its reach to everyone irrespective of caste, creed and religion. With this, she extended a warm welcome to the audience to the celebrations of Raksha Bandhan at The Yenepoya School.

Nilima Kothari, teacher of English, enlightened all present, the history and importance of Raksha Bandhan. This was followed by the presentation of the gallery of videos of students making Rakhis and Thank You cards. The students used different articles like silken thread, ribbon, decorative threads, stars, mirrors, pearls and flowers. Their artisanship was quite fascinating and the children thoroughly enjoyed this activity that tickled their creative side. The campus coordinator Yvette Pereira proposed the vote of thanks.
