Kaup, Aug 23: After a scooter rammed into a lorry that had been parked by the roadside near Muloor CSI church on Sunday August 22 afternoon, the two-wheeler rider was killed. The identity of the victim of the accident has been given as Sharan Shetty, son of the late Vishwanath Shetty from Thokottu here.
The lorry was loaded with sugar bags which were being transported from Belagavi to Kerala. The driver had stopped the lorry near the CSI church and was taking rest when the scooterist hit the lorry from behind. The scooteer was moving at a considerable speed as a result of which it went under the truck. The rider had suffered critical injuries. Even though the injured was taken to hospital immediately, he had died before reaching the hospital.
