Udupi: St Mary's English Medium (CBSE) School observes National Library Week

Udupi, Aug 21: On the occasion of celebrating 130th birthday of Dr S R Ranganathan, the father of Library and Information Science in India, St Mary’s English Medium School observed National Library week from August 9-14, 2021.

In the wake of Covid pandemic school had arranged an array of various competitions for students on virtual platform.

The competitions were divided into six categories -

Category 1: Grade 1 and 2 - Storytelling.
Category 2: Grade 3 and 4 - Listening to the story and answering the questions.
Category 3: Grade 5 and 6 - A news paper is the world’s mirror (Newspaper reading)
Category 4: Grade 7 and 8 - Collage making on 'Covid'
Category 5: Grade 9 and 10 - Essay writing on 'The impact of Covid on reading habitsof students'
Category 6: Grade 11 and 12 - Book review

Students from grade 1 to 12 enthusiastically participated in the competitions. The competitions were conducted by the school librarian Renold under the guidance of principal Fr Johnson Sequeira, vice principal Rita Quadros and teachers.
