Panaji: BJP says no space in party, Congressmen will not be taken

Panaji, Aug 20: Mauvin Godinho, minister for transport said that there is no space in the state BJP and they do not want more people from Congress to join their party.

There are speculations that some senior Congress leaders are planning join BJP. Godinho further said that they cannot give any positions to their own people so there is no question of taking more from Congress.

Speaking on the issue of criticism by the public on renaming Porvorim as New Panaji, Godinho said that if the people do not wish it to be renamed so be it. He added that everyone has the freedom to express his or her opinion.

Godinho said that there is no ulterior motive behind renaming Porvorim and it is not his but the party's decision. Some people accused that these gimmicks are done by BJP as elections are near.
