Mangaluru: St Lawrence English Medium school celebrates Independence Day

Mangaluru, Aug 16: St Lawrence English Medium school celebrates Platinum Jubilee of the country's Independence Day, with the dignitaries Lt Col Gration Sequeira along with the correspondent Fr Andrew Leo DSouza, Fr Peter Gonsalves the headmaster, Fr Rupesh Tauro the assistant parish priest of Bondel, Reginald DSouza the vice president of Bondel parish and the member of school management committee, Steeven Noronha, the secretary of Bondel parish council, Mary Miranda the headmistress of St Lawrence aided School Bondel along with the staff and the students.

The chief guest, who unfurled the national tricolour with dignity and patriotism following all the vivid pandemic restrictions.

School band members marched out in a procession with a band playing the National Song.

Then followed the felicitation for the toppers in SSLC Board exam of two years. Patriotic dance by the students, patriotic song by the teachers was the main highlights of the program. Chief guest reminded the duties of a citizen and to take pride in being Indian with great respect to the Mother Land India.
