Mangaluru, Aug 15: The 75th Independence Day was celebrated at Milagres Institution campus maintaining the norms of social distancing due to pandemic. Students and faculty of the CBSE, high school, PUC and degree section assembled for the day.
Roy Rodrigues governing council member and businessman was the chief guest of the day. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent, Milagres Institutions, presided over the function. Fr Michael Santhumayor, campus administrator, John Pais, principal, PUC section, Fr Maxim D’Souza, vice principal, high school, Veena D’Souza, principal, CBSE section, were present on the dais.
The chief guest, Roy Rodrigues, hoisted the tricolour national flag which was followed by the national anthem by the gathering. In his message said that our country should encourage more research and development activities and we need to be more advance when it comes to technology. President Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, in his message recalled the contribution of freedom fighters and the responsibility of every individual towards the nation and society. A nation can grow when there is unity with all of them. He wished all on this occasion.
All the staff in unison voiced the national anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom.
The patriotic song was sung by the students of degree section. Student representative of degree section spoke on the significance of the day.
