M'luru: SJEC celebrates I-Day by releasing its Institutional Development Plan for NEP 2020

Mangaluru, Aug 15:St Joseph Engineering College celebrated Independence Day by releasing its Institutional Development Plan (IDP) for NEP 2020

On the auspicious occasion of India’s 75th Independence Day, St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, released the first version of its Institutional Development Plan (IDP) during the Independence Day Celebrations held at the college on 15 August 2021.

India recently completed one year of reforms under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. NEP 2020 aims to transform the present educational systems and practices in India by making them multidisciplinary and holistic.

Over the past year,SJEC had several discussions on NEP and came up with the IDP for implementing NEP-2020. SJECs IDP highlights the actions necessary to implement the spirit of NEP-2020 in a realistic and phased manner over the next five years. This version of the IDP will be polished further by presenting and discussing the same at multiple fora among the key stakeholders of the institution. The IDP was prepared with the suggestions and consultations of all the Faculty at the college by the IDP Core Committee led by Dr Prakash Pinto, Dean of MBA at SJEC.

The IDP was unveiled by the Chief Guest of the Independence Day Celebrations Dr PurushothamaChippar, Professor & Head of Mechanical Engineering, in the presence of Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director of SJEC, Rev. Fr Alwyn Richard D’Souza, Assistant Director of SJEC, Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal of SJEC and Dr Binu KG, Head of Strategy and Planning.

Independence Day was celebrated with great gusto through a flag hoisting ceremony in the presence of staff and students of the college. While remembering the contributions of all freedom fighters, the Chief Guest called upon everyone to contribute and work towards the overall development of India as a global leader.
