Paris Hilton Refused Entry in Japan

London, Sep 22 (IANS) Socialite Paris Hilton was refused entry into Japan where she was scheduled to promote her fashion range after she admitted of cocaine possession before a Las Vegas court.

The immigration officers refused to let the 29-year-old socialite into the country. She was quizzed at Tokyo's Narita airport for six hours before being placed at the Airport Rest House.

"Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn't want to let down her brands and many Asian fans," thesun.co.uk quoted her spokeswoman as saying.

"She is trying hard to do the responsible thing, but this is beyond her control. She is very disappointed," the spokeswoman added.

Just hours before her visit, Hilton appeared in the Las Vegas court and pleaded guilty of possessing cocaine and obstructing a policeman. She was given a 12-month suspended jail term.
