Delhi Assembly passes resolution against three farms laws

New Delhi, Jul 31 (IANS): The Delhi Assembly on Friday passed a resolution seeking the withdrawal of the three controversial farm laws.

The resolution, moved by ruling Aam Aadmi Party member Jarnail Singh on the second day of the Monsoon session, was passed by a majority.

Condemning the implementation of the three farms laws which has forced thousands of farmers to protest at three borders of the national capital since last year, AAP members slammed the Centre for its "adamant behaviour" and for not agreeing to farmers' demands to withdraw these laws.

"It has been around eight months that lakhs of farmers are sitting on protest against three farm laws at borders of Delhi. However, the Centre did not pay any heed to them. This shows that how the BJP-led Central government treats the farmers of the country," Jarnail Singh said.

AAP member Sanjeev Jha said that the BJP kept on saying that the three farm laws are in favour of farmers, but when farmers raised queries, it failed to justify its decision.

"AAP has stood in support of farmers and will continue its support... no matter what hard punishment AAP leaders and volunteers face for it," he asserted.

The resolution also urged the Centre to talk to protesting farmers and resolve the long standing issue.

With an eye of next Assembly polls in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, where it has decided to enter the fray, the AAP has been backing the farmers since beginning their protest November last year.

How many hectares of farm land Delhi has got? What is the number of farmers in Delhi? This alone shows that the Delhi government's resolution is politically biased.

The BJP Govt has made a mockery of Parlimentary Democracy by passing these Farm Bills without any discussion in the house or taken any Parlimentary bodies into confidence. It is clear to the people of our country that these three farm bills was a dubious case of match fixing by Modi and Amit Shah for their crony capitalists friends like Ambani and Adani. The elaborate advance preparations , go downs, super markets, land acquisitions and other arrangements by industrialists Abmani and Adani are already in the public domain. These crony capitalists will then dominate the agriculture sector and render the farmers vulnerable and vanquished. . They finally passed it in the Rajya Sabha in a most deceitful manner through a voice vote just to please their Crony Capitalist friends at the expense of the Farmers. A Suit Boot Ki Sarkar that is totally insensitive, Callous, Indifferent, Arrogant and Autocratic that cares two hoots for the lower sections of our society including farmers. "Since Independence, it is for the first time that an arrogant government has come to power. It is not even looking at the pain and sufferings of farmers, forget about the common man,"If Agriculture is a State subject the why has the center passed Bills on Farm Laws on Agriculture
