Mangaluru, Jul 30: The department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte had organized a five-day online faculty development program on ‘Gender Equity: Challenges and Opportunities for Women in Decision Making’ between 26 to 30 July 2021. The event was sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy.

The FDP was inaugurated by N Vinaya Hedge, president, Nitte Education Trust & Chancellor, Nitte Deemed to be University. In his presidential remarks, he highlighted the significant role of women as mother, wife, sister and daughter. He stressed upon the importance of women fraternity to be empowered for the wellness of the family and country. Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, principal, NMAM Institute of Technology expressed his best wishes for the smooth conduction of this FDP.

Dr Nagesh Prabhu, head, department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering welcomed the gathering. Dr Anitha Marina Colaco, associate professor in the department and the FDP coordinator briefed about the FDP.

The FDP received a massive response with more than 200 participants from different parts of our country.
