Special prayers offered in various religious places of Udupi for recovery of Oscar Fernandes

Udupi, Jul 23: A special prayer service was held at the Mother of Sorrows Church in Udupi today, July 23 for the recovery of Congress leader Oscar Fernandes.

Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi diocese conducted the prayer service. Congress leader Oscar Fernandes has been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru for the past few days.

Addressing the gathering, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said, "Doctors are trying their best to cure Oscar Fernandes. He had the opportunity to serve at the national level for a very long period. He is a gentleman. Though the doctors are putting their efforts, prayers are also most needed at this juncture. Today we have offered prayers in mosques, church and also in temple. Let us pray for his speedy recovery".


Prayers were also held at various religious centers in Udupi. Special prayers were held in St Francis Xavier Church Udyavar, Polipu Jamia Masjid, Kapu Janardhan Temple and Sri Vishwanath Kshetra.

District Congress vice-president Prakyath Shetty. Congress leaders Veronica Cornelio, Satish Amin Padukere, Roshani Oliveira, and party members were present.
