Panaji, Jul 17: A truck proceeding to Guleli from Melauli carrying laterite stones fell into Murmune river after it lost control near Melauli-Sattari on Friday July 16.

According to sources, two other workers were also present in the truck along with the driver, but they jumped out of the vehicle. No casualties were reported.

To prevent further such mishaps, the villagers have demanded that the government construct a protective wall at the site. Guleli sarpanch Apoorva Chari said that a proposal has been submitted to the water resources department in this regard.
