Bengaluru: Basavakalyan Development Board’s action plan approved

Bengaluru, Jul 12: The action plan of the Basavakalyan Development Board, which met under the chairmanship of chief minister B S Yediyurappa on Monday, was accorded formal approval.

The meeting was informed that out of the 134 works taken up by the Board, as many as 76 have been completed while 58 works were under progress.

Out of the Rs 500 crore earmarked for the Anubhava Mantap construction, the state government has already released Rs 200 crore.

The meeting was informed that 69 acres of land out of the total of 101 acres had to be acquired from private parties as 11 acres and 25 gunta of land was already available. With the private parties demanding compensation at current market rates, which was holding up the land acquisition process, the chief minister directed the officials to negotiate with the private parties and reach an agreement to ensure that the project was started at the earliest.

The chief minister advised that the funds of Rs 10 crore available with the Board should be utilized for the land acquisition.

A suggestion from Bhalki MLA Ishwar Khandre that all legislators of Bidar district must be invited for the Basavakalyan Board meeting was accepted by the chief minister.

Kaginele, Sangolli Rayanna Authority meetings

At another meeting of the Kaginele Development Authority, held with the chief minister, Yediyurappa in the chair, approval for spending Rs 14 crore for the Authority’s activities was granted.

The meeting decided that the natural cure treatment centre that has been constructed in Kaginele must be inaugurated soon.

At another meeting of the Sangolli Rayanna Area Development Authority, approval for the payment of Rs 22 crore towards the pending bills for the works undertaken by the Authority during the current financial year was approved.

The state government has allocated Rs 62 crore for the Sangolli Rayana Area Development Authority this year.

The Authority has spent a total of Rs 159 crore on various development works since 2017, the meeting was informed.

    In my humble opinion, the Basvakalyan Development Board's collective decision under the leadership of our able Chief Minister, Mr Yediyurappa is really worth in its implementation for the benefit of the people in the State, provided it is speedily executed. GOOD WORK !!!
