Udupi: Covid-19 vaccination drive held at St Mary's College Shirva

Udupi, Jun 29: NCC, NSS, Youth Red Cross, Rovers-Rangers units of St Mary's College, Shirva in association with District Government Hospital, Udupi and Community Health Center, Shirva organised Covid-19 vaccination campaign on June 28 and 29 at Fr Henry Castelino auditorium of St Mary's College, Shirva.

"The vaccination campaign was organised in accordance with the availability of vaccines to eligible beneficiaries of 18 and above years. The vaccine is being distributed in accordance with the Code of Conduct of the college administration," said Lt K Praveen Kumar, the nodal officer for the vaccination campaign and NCC officer of the college.

Dr Herald Ivan Monis, the principal who presided over the programme said that a vaccine is essential for the improvement of immune power in our bodies.

Dr Subramanya Bhat, medical officer of Community Health Center, Shirva issued free vaccines to the students through the district administration.

Director of Student Welfare Council, Yashoda, NSS officer Premanatha, Raksha, Sam Joel Dias, Youth Red Cross coordinator Murali, Rovers-Rangers unit leaders Prakasha, Sangeetha Poojary, social worker Pawan Kumar Shirva, teaching, non-teaching staff and students took advantage of this vaccination drive.

Shirva Community Health Center's junior health assistant Sudha, Vinaya, Sanjay, Dinesh and social workers Anita, Parvathi and Rehmat helped in the smooth conduction of the campaign.
