Panaji: Jadeja illegally dumps garbage, gets fined 5k

Panaji, Jun 29: Nachinola sarpanch Trupti Bandodkar said that former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja, who owns a bungalow in Aldona, has been fined Rs 5,000 for dumping garbage in their village. Bandodkar said that to deal with the garbage menace in the village, a group of youth picks up strewn garbage and also tries to identify the culprits who dump it.

"They check the waste for any proof to identify the culprits," she said. Stating that a bill in the name of Ajay Jadeja was found in some bags of garbage, she said Jadeja was informed and he fully cooperated.

"When our representatives went to inform the celebrity not to dump the garbage in our village, he offered to pay the fine. And he came and paid it," she said.
