Tumakuru: Mother, two children meet watery grave after falling into well

Tumakuru, Jun 25: In a shocking incident which happened at Tirumalapalya within the limits of Kora police station in Tumakuru taluk on Thursday June 24, a lady and her two children accidentally fell into an open well in the farm and lost their lives.

The unfortunate victims of the incident have been identified as Hemalatha (38), and her children, Manasa (6) and Poorvika (3).

Hemalatha, wife of Kumar from the village, along with her children, had arrived at the farm to attend to some work there. When the children were playing, Poorvika lost her balance and fell into the well. Manasa, in a hurry to save her, also fell into the well. The mother, who was a little away, was overtaken by anxiety and jumped into the well in a bid to save the lives of her children. However, none survived as they did not know how to swim, the police who undertook the probe, said.
