Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 24: A vaccination camp was held for the staff members of the Institution along with locals of surrounding areas today at the Valachil campus of Expert PU College, Mangaluru. The camp was organised with the support of the district administration and health department.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson of the Institution remarked that while we do not hesitate to regularly vaccinate our children against a variety of diseases, it is disheartening that people today hesitate to get themselves vaccinated against a dangerous disease like Covid. She added that the vaccination camp was organised to create an awareness amongst the masses.

The chairman of the institution, Prof Narendra L Nayak said that vaccination is the only way to defeat the pandemic and that it is the responsibility of each and every one to get vaccinated at the earliest opportunity in order to make the society a healthier one.

He further urged the locals of the area to cooperate with the district administration in making the ongoing vaccination campaign successful. With the government faced with the possibility of opening up educational institutions soon, he added that it is imperative for all those working in the education field to get vaccinated.

The director (IT) Ankush N Nayak, vice-principal Raghavendra Shenoy, and health officials from the Adyar primary healthcare centre were present.
