Srinivas University holds conference on 'Emerging Trends in Computer Science & Technology ICECST

Mangaluru, Jun 21: ICECST-2021, a two-day international conference by Srinivas University (SU) was inaugurated on June 18 at the Mangala Hall of Hotel Srinivas by Sucheth D’Souza, the chief manager and branch head of the Bank of Maharashtra, here.

Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor of Srinivas University and vice-president of A Shama Rao Foundation, in the city was the president of the function and delivered the presidential address.

Dr P S Aithal, vice-chancellor of Srinivas University spoke about the conference and its importance. The international speakers Dr Steven Fernandes from the University of Central Florida, USA, Dr Ali Reza Alaei from Southern Cross University, Australia, Dr Shivakumar from the University of Malaya, Malaysia and Dr Prakash Kumar Udupi from Oman joined the inauguration virtually and spoke about the conference.

Professor Subramanya Bhat, dean of CCIS briefed about the research activities of the conference. Dr Nethravathi P S, professor of CCIS and convener of the conference welcomed all the dignitaries.

Dr Krishna Prasad K, associate professor and co-convener of the conference gave the vote of thanks.

The Abstract Book was released by the dignitaries during the formal function.

Soon after the inauguration of ICECST-2021, the keynote session from the international speakers started. Session 1 began at 11.30 am with Dr Ali Reza Alaei on the topic 'Measuring Human Satisfaction based on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Approach: Application in tourism' further at 12.30 pm session-2, Dr Shivakumar spoke on the topic 'Forged Text Detection” and session-3 was delivered by Dr Prakash Kumar Udupi from Oman on the topic 'Lean IT and FOSS-Towards new way of using IT in Business'. From 3 pm to 5 pm the researchers presented their work which took place in four parallel sessions by the session coordinators and eminent research professors from various places of Karnataka where the session chairs for the presentations were.

Day-2, namely June 19 began at 9 am with the keynote session-4 by Dr P S Aithal on the topic 'Anticipated Developments in Student-Centred, Faculty-Focused Higher Education System Based on Indian National Education Policy 2020'. Session-5 delivered by Dr Steven Fernandes spoke on 'Deep Learning & Computer Vision' while session-3 was taken by Dr Manju Jose on the topic 'Offline Cursive Handwriting Recognition using State of the Art Deep Convolutional Neural Networks'. From 2 pm to 4 pm, the researchers presented their work which took place in four parallel sessions by the session coordinators and eminent research professors from various places of Karnataka where the session chairs for the presentations were.

Around 65 research articles selected for the presentations and the same papers will be published in the conference proceedings and book chapters of New Delhi Publishers.
