Udupi: Case filed against one for impersonation in police recruitment

Udupi, Jun 19: A case is registered against a person who impersonated the actual candidate in the written examination that was held for the post of police constables.

This incident occurred at Mount Rosary English Medium School, Santhekatte, Kallianpur in the district, on October 18, 2020. According to the complaint registered at the CEN police station of the city, some other person impersonated as Praveen Kote in the written examination that was held at Mount Rosary School on October 18. However, Praveen Kote, the actual candidate appeared for the physical fitness and endurance test that was held on December 12, 2020 at Dharwad. Praveen also appeared for the medical examination also which was held on January 13 at Dharwad.

On suspicion, the fingerprints of Praveen Kote, who wrote the examination at Udupi and the one who attended the physical and medical examination at Dharwad were sent to the fingerprint institute at Bengaluru and the report confirmed that the fingerprints did not match.

Police has registered a case of fraud against Praveen Kote and the person who impersonated him under IPC column 416, 417, 419 and 34.
