Mangaluru: Milagres College to hold Faculty Development Programme

Mangaluru, Jun 14: Milagres College, here, an institute of higher learning believes and works towards attaining quality through its organized activities. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college organized an educational Faculty Development Programme on 'Research Publications' on June 14 from 10.00 am - 12.00 pm for the teaching faculty of the college.

Dr Aloysius Henry Sequeira, professor, School of Management, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal was the resource person. Principal, Fr Michael Santhumayor, introduced the resource person and welcomed the participants.

Dr Aloysius Sequeira, focused his first session on different modules to be used in research, such as the meaning of research, selection of a topic, objectives, review of literature, different methodologies and need for research publications in recognized journals and the procedures to be adopted in getting it published. He emphasized that there is a need to begin with writing review articles.

The second session was on the writing of abstract, title, introduction, presentation of paper in conference, publication process and most important is to communicate through the paper which needs to be presented like a narration.

Professor Siqueira, in a nutshell, led through the procedure to be followed to come up with a concrete research paper and its publication.

Cassin Rodrigues, the vice-principal, compered the programme. The session concluded with words of gratitude by Lavita Periera IQAC coordinator. Denzil D'Costa, took initiative in conducting the session conducted through the Google Meet platform.

The participants gained a rich experience on 'Research Publications'. The involvement of the participants could be measured when they raised thought provoking queries which were replied to with an equal explanation.
