Mandya, Jun 14: Relating to some family-related disputes, a lady and her husband's sister had prolonged bitter enmity. In one of the frictions between the two, the lady crushed the head of her sister-in-law with a stone before ending her own life by hanging.

This incident happened in Kambadahalli village in Mandya taluk. Priyanka (34), wife of Girish from the village, was murdered. Girish's sister and Ramegowda's daughter, Geetha (25) who murdered Priyanka, ended her life.

As in a number of occasions in the past, Priyanka and Geetha quarrelled with each other on Saturday when Girish was not at home. Geetha who came from behind, suddenly attacked Priyanka out of anger, and murdered her by hitting her head with a stone. She then realized that she would be caught and sent behind the bars. Out of fear, she hanged herself at her home.

A complaint about the murder and suicide were registered in the police station here.
