Sullia: Two young men fall victim to suspected dengue

Sullia, Jun 14: In two separate incidents reported from Sullia and Moodbidri taluks in Dakshina Kannada districts, two young men fell prey to dengue fever in Dakshina Kannada district.

Pramod (21), son of Nagesh working as powerman for Mecom, and resident of Shantinagar, Sullia, died on Saturday June 12 due to dengue. He has left behind parents and a brother. Pramod had suffered from fever ten days back and was being treated in Sullia government hospital. He was later referred to a private hospital in Mangaluru for sophisticated treatment.

In the other incident, Pradeep Kumar (25), a Bajrang Dal convener and son of Shekhar from Makki Thimaradda in Shirtady, Moodbidri, died on Saturday due to suspected dengue.

As he was ill, he had been admitted into a private hospital in Mangaluru. During medical tests, he was confirmed of having been suffering from dengue. Without responding to treatment, he breathed his last on Saturday. He was a construction supervisor and an active Bajrang Dal activist.
