Mangaluru: The Yenepoya School observes World Environment Day

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 9: The earth is the only planet in the entire universe where life is possible. We have not inherited the earth from our fathers, but are borrowing it from our children. Protecting our ecosystem is the need of the hour which not only enhances people’s livelihood but counteracts climate change and stops the collapse of biodiversity.

Since 1974, World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5, engaging people across various platforms in an effort to address environmental issues that our planet earth is facing.

Saving the environment means saving a life. Even here at The Yenepoya School (TYS), there is a responsibility to care for the environment. So the school decided to remind everyone, especially the future generation, about the importance of protecting our environment by giving a platform for inspiring positive change towards it.

In view of this, TYS decided to Go Green and plant trees to engage children in nurturing and conserving mother nature. Children have to plant a sapling in a garden bag or small pot, take care of the same at home and bring it to school when physical school reopens to have a 'Yenepoya Forest' in their premises.

'I have learned you are never too small to make a difference' – Greta Thunberg.

The actions we take to help protect the environment can make a major difference to it. So let us work towards a better, safer and brighter world not only for us but for all our future generations.
