Disney India to Release 'Do Dooni Char' on Oct 8

New Delhi, Aug 19 (IANS): Walt Disney India announced Thursday that it would distribute Planman Motion Pictures' forthcoming movie "Do Dooni Chaar" starring Neetu and Rishi Kapoor in the domestic market from Oct 8.

The directorial debut of Habib Faisal, the movie is an inspiring story of a middle class family. It also marks the return of the Kapoor pair as a lead couple on the silver screen after 30 years.

At the centre of the film is the Duggal family. Father and schoolteacher Mr. Duggal (Rishi Kapoor) is trying his best to cope with double digit inflation rates and single digit increments in his salary while his wife (Neetu) loves the good life. Added to that is a demanding teenage daughter (Aditi Vasudev) and a fast-track son (Archit Krishna).

The action begins when the family's middle class dream graduates from a scooter to a car. What follows is a journey of chaos, revelations, confrontation and discovery which eventually brings them together as a family.

"Storytelling is at the heart of Disney's creative heritage and 'Do Dooni Chaar' is the best representation of this with its delightful and touching narrative that will resonate with every Indian family and features characters to fall in love with," Swati Shetty, executive director - theatrical productions and acquisitions, Walt Disney Studios International Production (India), said in a statement.

Shubho Shekhar Bhattacharjee, chief executive officer and creative director, Planman Motion Pictures, said: "The story of the Duggal family is one that will resonate strongly with Indian audiences and is one of universal heartache and triumph that represents the very best of the coming together of family."

The movie is also Disney's first live action Hindi feature film.
