Mangaluru, May 17: Coast guard airlifted and rescued people in the Coromondel Supporter–IX vessel belonging to KEI-RSOR contractors assigned to connect crude oil underground pipe that runs to MRPL. The vessel was stranded in the sea due to rough weather. The rescued people were brought to New Mangaluru Port.

BJP state president, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, revenue minister, R Ashok, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath and Dr Y Bharath Shetty accompanied Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner to enquire about their well being.
