Bengaluru: Man issuing fake corona negative certificates held

Bengaluru, May 14: A person who allegedly was issuing fake coronavirus negative certificates to people visiting other states, was arrested by the Upparpet police on Thursday May 13. The arrested accused happens to be Sampathlal (35), resident of Akkipete here.

For the last 15 days, he had been issuing corona fake negative certificates to passengers arriving at the railway station here. He used to issue certificates by using fake rubber seals made in the names of prestigious institutions in the city. Many people had bought certificates from him and travelled to other states, the police said.

The police confiscated three fake certificates and mobile phone from him. His accomplice went missing and the police said they are making efforts to arrest him.
