Panaji: 35-year-old doctor loses battle to Covid

Panaji, May 14: Health workers taking the weight of Covid emergency in the country, a 35-year-old doctor died battling Covid-19 for about a month. Dr Anarkali Parab worked as a resident at Vistion hospital in Mapusa.

Prior to her testing positive, Parab was active on hospital duty. After testing positive last month, she was in home isolation and was hospitalized a few days later, a colleague Dr Chandrakant Shetye confirmed.

When the country was hit by the first wave, only four private hospitals treated Covid patients, but last month the government ordered that all private hospitals should start admitting Covid patients.
